If you live in an ashram, mindfulness is everywhere. If you live in an urban city, mindfulness can seem like a foreign and unattainable concept! There are many tools out now that are meant to bring those who seek it into a state of balance and peace. I have played around with a few of these and here is my list of apps to try. Enjoy!
This app was one of the first I got and have stuck with it. Its timer is one of the best and it has tons of guided meditations from many different teachers. It has a world wide community and you can be part of different groups as well. Personally, I only use it for its timer and guided meditations, but the groups are an added bonus for those looking to engage with others around the same subject.
This app is free.
This is an app that uses sound to align the chakras. Using this app can help tremendously if you are very emotionally triggered and need something to clear your mind. The app itself has a few different options to choose from. You can work with chakras individually or align them all at once. There is also a Cleanse option that induces endorphin release.
This app does cost an initial fee.
The Work App
Byron Katie is a mindfulness teacher who has helped thousands of people find peace through her teaching called The Work. She has an app out now where you can have the teaching accessible on the go. Its pretty amazing what you are able to learn simply by answering the questions provided. I suggest listening to her podcast or watching her videos first to get a sense of how it works. If you are a person who has a hard time learning to let go, this is the perfect app for you.
This app is one thats geared towards education but they have entire programs on mindfulness and yoga. I highly recommend the Seane Corn course on the chakras, she is an amazing teacher and has so much wisdom to offer. When you sign up for this app, you will also be signed up to get discount codes when things go on sale, so it will be even more affordable! I love that.
Free to download, in-app purchases.
